I couldnt be happier with the incredible job done on my grandmothers flip-top vanity! Its a very special heirloom that had seen better days the finish was dull, the hardware was worn, and the wood had a few deep scratches. They brought it back to life in the most beautiful way possible. They even helped replace the broken mirror.
The craftsmanship and attention to detail were outstanding. The wood grain now glows, the hinges and top move smoothly, and they even managed to preserve the character of the original piece while making it look brand new. Communication throughout the process was excellent they explained every step, offered helpful suggestions for stain color, and delivered the piece right on time.
Its rare to find this level of skill and pride in workmanship these days. I cant stop admiring how stunning the vanity looks now! I highly recommend them to anyone looking to restore or refinish a cherished piece of furniture.

The top was stained with water, a milk spill, and some cat yak. John and Chris knew exactly what they were looking at and expertly repaired and refinished it to look as good, if not better, than new. They were thrilled with the finished product. We were beyond thrilled with the finished product. I cannot recommend Cather's highly enough. Five star work from a five star company.

John and his team refinished a 75-year-old family desk for me. It was beat up and had seen better days but what they did was nothing short of unbelievable. the desk looks like it would have brand new 75 years ago. Cather’s refinished my old coffee table. They did a fantastic job gluing back each piece of inlay and sanding out all the damage from cat scratches. It looks like new! I’m thrilled with the results!

Our family has a dining room table and chairs from the 1880s, burl mahogany. Three of the chairs needed extensive repairs - split backs, broken arm and joints. The process took awhile, but they are very busy these days and I knew that from the start. They returned the sideboard first and a couple of weeks later the table and chairs.

I bought some vintage wooden doors off of Etsy (apparently from India) because I loved the intricate wood carving detail in the center of each one. Unfortunately the trims didn't match and I wanted to use them for sliding barn doors. That's when I reached out to John Cather and family. He discovered that the doors were made of different wood so the only way to get the trims to match is to stain the lighter one darker. He did an incredible job matching them up and preserving the essence of the doors which I love so much. They really care about their craft and it shows. Would highly recommend.

I have had my grandmothers petite rocker for 30 years but it wasn’t in good condition. The wood was in good shape but needed freshening up. We got it back today and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Better than I expected!

I took a 35-year-old wooden rocking horse to Cather's for repairs in anticipation of delivering it to my son for use by my young granddaughter. Chris Cather did wonderful work - the horse looked great and the job was completed on time and on budget. Chris did everything he said he would and then some. A pleasure to work with.
